BlueHost vs InMotion Hosting

http://www.bluehost.com and http://www.inmotionhosting.com

Looking for a suitable hosting company that can meet your needs as a business is a challenge. There are many choices out there, and it can be difficult to narrow your options in order to make the best decision possible. Since you don’t want to have to move your site anytime soon once it’s established, this is an important decision for your business and the future of your business. We’ve compared Bluehost and Inmotion hosting for your convenience to help you make the best choice specific to your needs.

Plan Features and Pricing
For $6.95 per month, Bluehost provides an extensive suite of services including the standard unlimited hosting space, unlimited domains, and a free site builder. In addition, you will receive access to an autoresponder, a free domain forever, shopping cart options, and 1000 additional FTP accounts. Inmotion’s hosting services are structured in a three-tiered format. The bottom tier is quite basic for $5.95 per month, limited to 6 supported domains and 2 My SQL databases. The second tier provides 20 more domains and 48 additional databases for $7.95 per month, and the pro package at $17.95 per month offers unlimited domains, 200 databases, and unlimited FTP accounts. Unfortunately, Inmotion does not support a monthly billing, but requires the purchase of a minimum of year’s advance payment.

Reliability
With a proven track record since 1996, Bluehost enjoys a well-earned reputation for uptime and reliable service. Both Bluehost and Inmotion boasts over 99% uptime, however Bluehost owns their own data center and has in place an outstanding power backup strategy. This is particularly important since power outages could inflict damage on traffic, sales, and potential customers from which it is difficult to recover for the small business.

Support
Good customer support is a must when choosing a hosting service, and both Bluehost and Inmotion provide plenty of avenues for problem solving. Live chat, toll-free phone numbers, community forums, and help desks are available should you run into any difficulties. Bluehost and Inmotion both have 24/7 access, although Bluehost seems to have more experience in this area since Inmotion was launched in 2001 and Bluehost in 1996.

General Aspects
It seems that Inmotion is rather limited to low traffic sites, which is a concern when making plans to grow your business. Bluehost is set up to accommodate business growth, which should factor in to your plans for the future. When choosing the right host, thinking ahead toward your goal and what you hope to accomplish with your business is a valid concern, and making the right decision today could save you lots of expense and grief in a couple year’s time. For a personal website that doesn’t require a lot of room, Inmotion might be a viable option, but for people who are looking to push the edge of their business, Bluehost has what you need.
